Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Will this cable length included work for my car?

A: The 72" (6 foot) cable provided was purposely chosen as it is long enough for shifters to mount in any typical spot while being able to go forward and loop around the back of the transmission to connect to the shifter linkage. 

Q: Can I use this shifter without CO2?

A: Yes many use these shifters without CO2, because it is a gated shifter you can push it into the next gear and manually or co2 assisted. Additionally, our CO2 assist is easy to add at any time and costs the same whether you add it now or in the future.

Q: Is this for drag race only?

A: No many customers use this shifter in a variety of formats. 

Q: How does this differ from a "ratchet" type shifter?

A: A gated shifter means that the gates are selected by the user whereas a ratchet shifter you push it once to advance to the next gear. With a gated shifter you need to push the shifter hard enough to catch the next gear when going from low gear up, but this allows you to have a positive stop and know where your shifter is at. Additionally this allows you to add air assist in the future whereas a ratchet shifter does not have that option.

Q: Will this work with a console in my vehicle?

A: Many of our customers will custom modify their console to make this fit for a more "factory" appearing look. For vehicles with manual style consoles this is often even easier to accomplish. See our factory bolt in mounts for many late model applications: Click Here
